Tegucigulpa, Honduras
Back to Tegucigulpa to meet up with Jayme and Marlena. They had been working in the capital city of Honduras and reserved a room for us in the hotel in which they were staying. WOW, a room with a fabulous view!! And hot water for the shower!! Central Americans thrill at eating at North American restaurants, but we hadn't traveled over two thousand miles to eat US fast food, so insisted we dine at a traditional Central American restaurant.
There is no municipal dumps so the people just deposit their refuse along the road outside the city.
This city is surrounded by steep, jagged mountains, with winding, hairpin-turn roads as access.
Views from our hotel room
Our hotel room was actually a suit!
More views from the hotel room.
Tom was always fascinated by the wiring!
There actually was a small carnival on top of the mall!
Honduras Lives!!
Jayme, Marlena and us
The food was delicious!!!
'The Patio' was the name of this traditional restaurant.
Jayme too Tom to the Aconotel to register and get permission to talk on his amateur radio while we were in Honduras.
Another example of all the US American restaurants around town.
Before leaving town, we went to see the new Temple which would be opening after we left for El Salvador.
What a breath-taking view from the temple grounds!! Truly a light on a hill, beckoning all to come!
