Yesterday, in spite of Dad not feeling well again, and my mind still foggy, we put the rail on the landing of the new porch. What do you think??? After completing the rail around the landing, we stepped back and realized that they were completely symmetrical, and we had not planned it!!!! Our minds were so clouded from this virus that we could hardly think straight, so the Lord helped us figure out how many and how far apart to place the posts and where to put the support ones!!!!!! Dad was the one who noticed it, and said how he felt warm all over when he realize that we had had help. :) After a brief rest and dinner, we went to Lowe's to purchase the latices. Not sure I like what we picked out, but it will be durable. It's a white plastic (easier to cut, no staples holding the boards where they cross) with small squares, called privacy latices. It will not show anything underneath, which will be wonderful, because of being in the front of the house. :) We also talked some more about closing off some windows on the enclosed porch, insulating the inside (in addition to already deciding to have the spray foam installed underneath) and installing a new door all in preparation for use this Winter.
We would like to be able to put the tread mill out there for more room in the living room. Maybe even put the TV out there, with a pantry on the North end. We'll have to see how much room there is for a little "family room". The pantry would eliminate most of the clutter from the food storage items spread out all over out there. In addition, getting rid of the glider and quilt frame will free up a lot of space as well. Not sure what I will do with the Christmas decorations and plates?????? I do not want to put them back upstairs! Maybe downsize there some too. Any ideas?? Maybe there will be some space in the "pantry" after all the storage items are put in there..... The saga continues. :)
