Life is a roller coaster ride full of ups and downs!!!
This has been an eventful year full of graduations, weddings, births, illness and funerals. When I was a child, my sister and I used to love going to Eldridge Park and enjoy all of the rides. Our favorite ride was the roller coaster! During one visit, we were given the usual $1 and decided to see how many times it would take for us to ride the roller coaster before loosing the lurching feeling in the pit of our stomachs as the coaster dove down the steep hills.
We learned that when we looked around us at what was happening outside of ourselves, we became less focused on what was happening inside of ourselves making the ride delightfully tolerable. Interestingly, after that, the coaster no longer held a thrill for us..... But the lesson was learned: looking around our world to others needs, helps minimize the effects of our own do
wnward spirals, until at length the road of life smooths to a steady even pace.

May your roller coaster life smooth to a comfortable
pace as you follow the council of the Lord Jesus Christ to lift the burdens of others at this season of giving and throughout the new year.
