Random Thoughts......

Talked with my mother today, it was a great chat!!! Abuse seems to go in cycles, so we shall see how long this lasts, hopefully it will take a straighter path..... Time will tell. :) Thank you Elaine for the advice, which The Lord helped me follow, change the subject. He sent a Fly Catcher bird to distract me during a part of the conversation, which could have turned ugly if continued. Praise the Lord for sending Elaine to me and for helping me follow through!!!

It is like the man throwing star fish back into the sea, and someone telling him that it will do no good. For each individual thrown into the "sea of the Gospel", it makes a world of difference in that person's life...... in the Lord's time. It took me as long as I lived in the abuse (19yrs) to over come most of the effects, which it had had on my life. Unfortunately, when I am placed back in that environment (being around my mother for even an hour, when she is in the depths of the abuse cycle) it returns and takes about 2 months to overcome again. Eventually, people, who are attempting to overcome abuse, will have to choose to leave their surroundings and move to safer, more loving places of residences in order to heal and grow. Just like plants need sunshine, people need safety and encouragement. May the Lord continue to bless us, as we each work with others who need guidance to overcome whatever life has thrown them. Even if you do not see any difference now, there are changes inside and eventually they will surface. To anyone who tries to pull someone out of this hole, hang in there.

I just finished reading, "To Draw Closer To God" by Henry B. Eyring. AWESOME!!! And, have been having some similar thoughts, because of my mother's abusiveness towards me lately, of wanting to be a better Christian and not retaliate. Pres. Eyring says, love them, teach them the truth, and that the principles of the Gospel are true, then live the truth. This is most difficult when the person may not want to choose to follow our example. It brakes our hearts as it surely must brake Heavenly Father's and Jesus Christ's...... Thank you for any thoughts. which help me put my own into perspective. :)
