OUCH!!!

Last Thursday, Dad drove me to the foot doctor to have the ingrown part of the toe nails in my big toes removed. He stayed in the waiting room reading the manual for his upcoming class. The intern froze the area where the shots were to go in by using a can of liquid nitrogen.Then she injected each toe in four places. I'm sure the freeze must have helped, but YIKES it still hurt almost too much to tolerate. But... I manged to not pass out! Have to admit that I did come close.... The right toe however still needed two more shots before it numbed enough for the doctor to continue.

Most of the pain after the lidacane wore off came from the bruises caused by the shots.

  They did a great job, didn't they! 

The intern did the left one and the doctor did the right one.
 Can you see a bit of the bruising at the base of the second toes?
Not much left.
The outer edges of each large toe
and the ball of each foot bruised on the under side, just look a bit dark.

The twice daily salt water baths are helping them heal quite nicely.
This aluminum pan works great! 

They are still weeping just a little from the burning of the nail bed 

which will prevent them regrowing in that area.

For two weeks they will have to remain covered to prevent infection.

But after only 6 days there is absolutely NO more pain!!!

HURRAY!!
