Electronic Communications Systems
EET252W01
I am taking this class instead of a traditional science class with a lab. This course is the last of a four level series of classes and I wanted to be sure that I had enough prior experience to skip the three lower level classes. Therefore, before classes began, I completely read the roughly 800 page textbook to be sure there would no surprises. Class meets for one hour Mon, Wed, and Fri and the lab is Mon for three hours.
During the first class last Friday the professor went over the syllabus and introductions. She also told us to bring a scientific calculator to EVERY class! Thus I went off in search of the cheapest one I could find, a simple Casio calculator with sin, co-sin, tan, and co-tan and a few other helpful functions. The Professor is tough, but she is a good instructor. She really knows
her stuff! This class will round out my knowledge of electronics. When
this series of classes started one and a half years ago, there where thirty students
and now there are only seven of the original students in the class. With me in the class there are 8 students. What have I gotten myself
into! Good thing I am only taking this class during this semester!
Let the fun begin!
Yesterday, was the first lab. Three hours of grueling calculations and I needed the whole three hours! First thing that happened was the computer dumped my first program, which was a circuit simulator generating square waves from seven sin wave sources. Then, we generated sawtooth waves from six wave sources. After that, we examined bandwidth of square waves on a spectrum analyzer. Finally, we finished the lab by doing an excell spread sheet table to generate harmonics on a bar graph.
WHEW! THIS IS HARD!!!

You can do it Honey!!! Hang in there; you are almost done!
