The presents are wrapped and set out to entice the family until morning! Dad even helped me wrap them!
Becca and Dan enjoyed building with the blocks, while Zach dug into his new book and we waited for Great Gramma to arrive.

Gramma Ford brought a peck and a half of canning apples with them on Saturday to visit with Tommy's family before they left to have lunch with Cherie's family. Tommy and Cherie took the half peck with them to enjoy on their trip to Virginia. When we went to Gramma's house, Ed gave us another peck of canning apples and a 5 lb bag of eating apples and 5 HUGE heads of cabbage. The apples made 42 pints of pie filling, sauce to put over ice cream or in oatmeal!
Today, I dug through the one inch deep frozen ground to remove the Comfrey roots to make a tincture of medicine from them. After removing the mud in a bucket of warm water and then finished cleaning them in the kitchen sink. After being cut into tiny pieces, they were put into quart jars and covered with four and a half quarts of rubbing alcohol. After shaking them twice a day for the next 2 months, the medicine will be ready to use. Hurray, a year of anti-swelling and pain medicine!!!
