On Sunday, Aug 1st, Tommy and Cherie brought Becca down for her first visit alone with Gramma and Grampa! That evening we watched her favorite video, 'Ever After', then a shower which turned into a bath and lasted till well after midnight. She sure knows how to stall, prayer, song, back tickles, talk!! LOL!! Guess I'm out of practice!! But it was her vacation after all, and we had no reason to get up early. :)
Monday Aug 2nd: Morning was spent lounging around playing games, eating breakfast, and trying to contact Haley. In the afternoon, there was a mix up, which turned out to be FUN! The internet said the movie, which we planned to see ('Sorcerer's Apprentice') was showing at 1:30, but it started at 12:30. Thus, we had to make a quick change of plans and went to see "Cats and Dogs' in 3D instead!! That evening while Grampa was at school, we watched 'Swiss Family Robinson', ate smores, and after finally making contact with Haley's mother, we made plans for playing with Haley the next day. Bed was late again, we're on vacation. :)
Tuesday, Aug 3rd: Haley came at 8:30am excited to be playing with Becca --- as well as not having to spend another day at her mother's new store! I sent her up to wake Becca up and we all ate breakfast togather. After they played for a while, we ate lunch and went swimming at the Vestal Pool. What fish they both are even though the water was so cold!!! Haley even stayed for dinner and they played and helped us until around 8:30. After, scripture reading and family prayer, we watched another evening video, and got to bed late --- again --- after her usual family routine.
Wednesday, Aug 4th: Becca went to Gramma Klingensmith's for the day. While she was there, I got some work done around the house and some needed shopping accomplished. One very important errand was to purchase tickets to the 'Sorcerer's Apprentice' for Thursday afternoon! This time we would have the right time!! After returning home, Becca invited Haley to spend the next day with us again and go with us to the movie, and then came the regular family routine in preparation for bed. The only problem with this routine was that it was late when we started. It was a great time for reflection, reviewing the day, making plans and relaxing in preparation for sleep.

Thursday, Aug 5th: OOPS!!!! We were not up early enough to have Haley dropped off before her mother, Chelsey, had to get to the store. It had been another late night, this time from reading a story. She sure knows how to procrastinate!!! After driving to retrieve Haley from the store, we stopped at Home Depot to purchase colored Duct Tape to 'create' with!! The girls produced a FABULOUS apron, princess crowns, and several other non-descriptive items, which they treasure!!
After lunch, we went to the movie --- on time this time!! Becca's favorite part was the end when David told his girl friend that he didn't know how to land the metal bird. She laughed and laughed!! Definitely from a vivid imagination of the poss
ibilities!! Haley stayed for dinner, they played outside while Dad put the face boards on the steps and I nailed the bottoms of the posts in place. Becca and Haley each wanted to help us, so we allowed them to use the hammer or hold a board when it was safe for them to do so. Becca held a strong board against the thin one (which I was nailing the posts to) for some firm support to help me hammer in the nails. To help Dad, Haley held the boards he was sawing . Then they switched. They sure do enjoy being together!!

Friday, 6th:
Haley came early again and I was up to greet her on time! This day was filled with water colors before lunch, pool during the afternoon (before Haley's father and step mother picked her up for the weekend), Mini Golf with Gramma and Grampa during the evening and another story reading before bed.
Bed time was a bit more reasonable in order to get up early enough to eat and travel to Watkins Glen to visit Great Gramma Ford and attend our Stake's Big Event.
Saturday, Aug 7th: Becca was a bit sad not to have her dear friend to play with, but she rose to the occasion and had a great time making new friends at the Big Event. Before that we stopped at Gramma Ford's and Becca attempted to convince her to join us for lunch at the Watkins Glen Camp Ground pavilion, which our church had reserved for our stake. Forgot to take the camera, sigh. There were games for the youth and adults, a blow up bouncing thing for the younger children, and the pool was delightful!!! After returning, we went shopping for finger paints, but didn't get to use them before bed as we needed to get ready for the Sabbath.
Sunday, Aug 8th: Church was wonderful as usual, but made better having Becca with me while Grampa was on the stand. :) She had a wonderful time making new friends in her Primary class and then I dropped her off at Gramma Klingensmiths for the rest of the day. After she came home, we finger painted and then got ready for our trip to take her home on Monday.
Monday, Aug 9th: I let her sleep untill she awoke on her own; then we ate, packed the car and off we went. OOPS, the car needed an oil change before making that long a trip and we wanted some new snacks to make the long journey more fun. After completing those chores, we arrived around 4pm, much latter than planned. Sure could have used that cell phone, but spent the money on ---- more interesting and fun things!!! Left Tommy and Cherie's around 8:30 after a delicious dinner, which Cherie prepared for us, and arrived in time to put the bedding on the beds for Matt and Dan and send them and Zach off to bed.
Zach mowed our MUCH over grown lawn, while Dan and I weeded the desparate flower beds around the house. Dan also mowed about 1/6th of the lawn. They loved our self propelled lawnmower!!! That afternoon we went to Hiland Park to go swimming. Grampa met us there later and taught the boys how to do REALLY PRODUCTIVE cannon ball splashes!! They also enjoyed the looks, which some pretty young women were giving them, LOL!! Ah to be young and handsome!!! :) That evening we went to the Far East for dinner, and later we watched a video. When times were slow, they either read their books or we played a magnet game which they had brought. It was a LOT of fun! Thanks for bring this game with you!!

dnesday, Aug 11th: Dan and I cut a board for Zach to attach a garden hose hanger to and did some more weeding. Zach installed to board inside the shed to screw the hanger to and tried to attach another one to the stucco wall of our house. No luck on the house installation. After discussing the problem with Grampa later that evening, we decided to use one of his suggestions on Friday. Dan helped me finish the weeding around the house and garage, while Matt finished Gramma Klingensmith's yard and was returned in time for going to see 'Sorcerer's Apprentice'. They loved it!! That evening we watched a video and got to bed late again. It's vacation after all!!
Thursday, Aug 12th: The boys spent the entire day and evening at the Klingensmiths and it rained, so they played on the WI all day. After they came home, we watched a video--- late again.... :)

Firday, Aug 13th: Zach and Matt removed the fiberglass insulation from under the back porch/utility room in the morning, while Dan and I installed the garden hose hanger on the house using by hammering a Phillips screwdriver to make pilot holes for the screws. After cleaning up, we went to the bank at Wall-mart, purchased pizzas for dinner, and then went to the Cinema Saver to watch ' Karate Kid'. The boys said that this was the best theater anywhere, because the prices of everything were so reasonable!!!

y, Aug 14: Grampa had gotten up early and gone to get the river stone to finish filling the French drain along the back fence. When the boys got up we put the stones in the drain, which only filled about half of it, but we could not get more stones since the place closed at noon.
After lunch we went to the mini golf place and they had a blast
especially when the balls went into the water, LOL!!
After golf they wanted to try out the bouncing poles. Zach wants to have one of his own, LOL!!
Then we rented and watched 'Invictus', before Tommy, Cherie, Mike and Becca came. Red Box is awesome!! Tommy's 25th yr High School class reunion was this weekend. Mike went off to spend time with Ashley, while the rest of us watched movies, and ate smores. Fun time for all!!!!
Sunday, Aug 15th: Up early to make a good breakfast to tide them over for church. It was so fun to fill up a WHOLE pew at church!!! They left after Sacrament meeting and spent a couple of hours with the Klingensmiths. After they returned, Tommy, Cherie and Grampa took naps, while the kids and I watched a couple of videos and snacked. What a great way to end a fabulous 2 weeks!!!
Thanks Tommy and Cherie for giving me these 2 weeks with your treasures!!!!

Tuesday, Aug 10th: The boys wanted to make some money while here, so each morning we did some work and in the afternoons we played. Their Gramma Kingensmith also needed some work done, so we shared their labor a couple of mornings. This day Matt went over there while Zach and Dan helped me. Matt mowed their lawn and did some general picking up in preparation for garbage pick up.
