a house of order......

Worked so hard to day, that my whole body is screaming at me, but it feels good to have the house getting back in order. Didn't weed the flower bed by the driveway this Summer and the grass was taking over, YIKES... Now it is all winterized, weeded, dead plants cleaned out, the Iris trimmed, and the rest of the old roofing shingles cleared out. Then it got all packed up for the dump, and the leaves got raked out of the driveway and the driveway hosed down. Next year, I want to make that flower bed smaller and raised for easier care. Planning down the road when I can no longer get down to work in it.

As I was raking, the front steps caught my eye with all the dirt along with black and green mold all over it, so just had to clean it. You know how one thing leads to another. :) Good thing I ware a mask today! After all of that, I came in and gathered all the throw rugs and washed them. While they were in the machines, I swept the main floor and stairways, then took the runner rug, from the front porch, outside to bleach and auto dishwasher detergent clean it in the driveway. Hung it on the swing to rinse with the hose and drip dry. (Just brought it in to finish drying, in case the weather man is correct and it rains tonight or tomorrow, before I get it inside.)

Then, made Beef Stroganoff for dinner, YUMMMM! Luvin this new menu schedule Dad and I arranged this week. Just like when you kids were young. I took all the meals we both like and put them on cards, over 2mo worth! Dad gathered them in an order last night and now we are eating like kings! Another benefit of having only one job, the Home Executive of the Siglin Household. :) Luv it!!!

Yesterday, I dusted, washed windows and cleared flat surfaces. The only place left to clear is the microwave. Feels good to be finally getting to deep Spring and Fall cleaning, which has not been done for who knows how many years...... been getting by with just surface cleaning. Better late than never..... right! So much got let go, while I was working at PMI and then for the 2yrs of teaching Seminary. Don't know how women can have a full time job, have children and keep up with all the house work at the same time..... I sure do not have the stamina to keep up with just a job outside the home and the house. Dad said the other day, that, now he sees how much I was not able to accomplish, while I was working and while I was doing Seminary. Needless to say, he's happy that the house is getting back in order, and so am I!!! I sure like having a clean, orderly house. Next the upstairs....... Hope the weather holds out, so that the rugs can be washed outside.

Feeling much stronger as well. Manual labor helps rebuild the muscles weakened from too much sitting. And is so much more fun than calisthenics or just walking! Alas, dancing is out, because of my knees..... Not the end of the world; at least I can still work!!!
