In spite of his arms giving him grief the night before, Dad bit the bullet and just had to play with the new Jack Hammer, which he had ordered to finish the job of demolition of the front steps and landing! He had fun for a while, but finally got tired and quit. He says that today he is not feeling too bad! Hope that lasts.
The top eventually started coming off in large chunks, and he was
anxious to get them removed. The last loosened one really was too big to be moved alone, and he was too tired to brake it up. So I went to help him move it. As it was being moved away from the house along the remaining floor, my finger got smashed between the chunk and the floor cement. OUCH! I didn't know whether to cry or scream, so I went directly to the freezer for a bag of peas and paced the floor inside the house until the pain subsided to a dull roar. Then I dipped my fingers into some Comfrey tincture and the rest of the pain became tolerable enough to help clean up the rest of the debris.

Not bad is it! Love that Comfrey!!
Dad put these chunks along the driveway while I was regaining my composure and the tarp was dragged to the edge as well after I returned to help.
The metal support beam closest to the house was so rusty that, when I started to step on it, it gave way some. Needless to say, I backed off quickly! Today, I took a sludge hammer to it
and finished the job to prevent anyone from falling into the hole by stepping on it.
The damage to the wood under the door frame can be seen more easily now, a testimony that, if there was any doubt that this demolition needed to be done, there is no doubt now!!
Today, My two little Lego buddies sure were curious about the demolition and wanted to do some of their own! Took a few minutes of coaxing to get them to come away from it and do something else!
